Puma-León De Montaña
Miel
My name is MIEL, I arrived at the Rescue Shelter in September 2010. In Buenos Aires, Puntarenas a man raised me because my mom was killed in a farm. As I grew I became very dangerous for the family of the house, and when I was 4 months I was locked in a chicken coop. Within months men working in the ICE realized my situation and talked to the farmer. Soon came veterinarians of the National University, and helped with my translocation to my new home. I share my home that’s has all the requirements for a better quality of life; with DALILA.
Dalila
I'm DALILA, I was found in February 2006 along with my newborn sibling in a cave by some men on a farm in Bello Horizonte, Cañas. They took us thinking that our mother was dead and called the Rescue Shelter. The personal in the Shelter immediately put us back in the den, but our mother did not return. I could not be returned to my natural habitat, because of my requirements; I need a large space to learn to hunt. Usually big cats live with their mother for two years, while she teaches them how to survive. Here they don’t have the conditions for that; but they had taken good care; feed us well and my house is like my natural habitat, and they put some toys so I don’t get bored.
Bruno
I'm the youngest puma, my name is BRUNO and I arrived of 6 months old from, Aguas Claras, Upala in December 2011. A man rescued me when I was 1 month old, he said that my mother was killed because she attacked calves on a farm. The man kept me in its tourism facilities, a Canopy with tourists. I could cross the street to the houses on the other side. Because of the danger I faced, officials of the Arenal-Tempisque Conservation Area (SINAC-MINAET), moved me to the Shelter. My diet has improved and also my physical condition. I am very active and playful!
